Character Name: Minami "Ikko" Itsuko (Female version of Minami "Ikki" Itsuki)
Canon: Air Gear (manga)
AU/OC/Previous Game: Female AU
Age: 15
Appearance: Ikko's around 157cm or 5'2". She has chestnut eyes and black hair that she keeps trimmed very short. Her build is pretty slender/sinewy, but she's definitely got some defined muscles--the girl works out! She's not ripped, but it is clear that she is an athlete that takes her sport seriously and puts in the training to stay on top of her game. She's also less well-endowed than most other girls her age which bears mentioning since it's a point of frustration for her.
Cause of Death: Crushed to death by a falling piece of a battleship
Impact of Death: She'll be pretty goddamn miserable. She died in the middle of a rescue mission to save her adoptive older sister, after all. However she is absolutely the type of person to pull her feet back beneath herself and get up to keep moving forward. She just might take a while to get to that point.

Character Info:
Air Gear is a series about a boy, his ragtag team of followers, and their escapades with magic physics-defying motorized rollerblades called A-T. They spend the series getting into fights, stupid hijinks, fights, one-sided ust, and plots to take over the entire world. Minami Ikki--or, rather, Minami Ikko in this AU, is the rising star of that ragtag team.
While other little girls were playing house with dolls, Ikko was running through back alleys with the neighborhood boys playing all the rough and tumble games little boys love so much. They were more exciting. She continued that way, beating down any other child who told her she should be more like a girl, honing her fighting skills and forcing people to acknowledge her until she rose to become the leader of the East Side Gang, the group of thugs that lorded over her middle school. It was there that she was introduced to A-T after a rival gang recruited a particularly hellish team to wipe them out. Ikko was humiliated and toppled from her top rank, even having to be saved from the gang by a few of her classmates. She hated it.
Her adoptive sisters bought her a pair and helped her to wipe that gang out, giving her just the right push she needed to begin TRULY learning to ride on her own. From there, she gathered up a couple of her old gang members and a few allies they picked up in later battles and formed the team that would come to be known as Kogarasumaru. They began to climb through the ranking system that stormriders (A-T users who compete in underground races or fights) measured themselves with, quickly attracting the attention of the A-T world.
In time, Ikko discovered that not only were her sisters actually a part of one of the very top teams, but a woman she'd met and come to consider a fourth sister, Takeuchi Sora, was actually a villain with plans of taking the "sky", freedom, essentially the world itself all for her own. Ikko's ultimate goal continued to be simply reaching the top of the A-T world for the simple joy of getting to stand there at least once, but she was also bound into having to face the combat that would go down between the family she'd grown up with and Sora.
Although she was raised in a family of all girls, Ikko turned out to be quite the tomboy. It isn't that she lacks any feminine traits. She does keep a few tattered stuffed animals from childhood, and she's fond of simplistic jewelry. She's proud of being a girl! She simply enjoys living life without worrying about acting the way society expects her to more than anything. She'll be the kind of woman she wants to be and nothing else! It just so the kind of woman that is happens to be crude, boisterous, overly confident, boyishly aggressive, and so forth.
For those fools who try to suggest that she act a little more womanly or that because she's just a girl she can't fight or use A-T, Ikko shows no mercy. As I said, she doesn't want anyone else to define what kind of woman she should be. She'll crush anyone who acts like she's somehow not enough of a woman or not capable of standing toe to toe with someone just because she doesn't have a dick. The same applies to people who try to go easy on her during a fight; she absolutely hates not being taken seriously just because she's a girl, and she'll force people to recognize that she's a force to be reckoned with.
That said, she's not a person who's above using her sexuality to get her way. It just . . . very seldom actually works. She's not nearly as well-endowed as other girls her age, so any attempts are usually met with a comedic level of disinterest or, even worse, she summons up the series pervert, Onigiri, and has to pile drive him into a pulp.
Ikko is confident to the point of frustrating both enemies and allies. It's not unusual for her to refer to herself as a godly being or to declare that she'll crush an opponent who's been proven to be far above her level. Even when she completely disbelieves her own words to the point of shaking in fear for anyone to see, she speaks with the same overly confident "I'll beat you!!" attitude. She's even worse when she actually has a reason to be confident. She's arrogant and rude, sometimes even insisting for people to get down and worship her almighty greatness. She's very stubborn and determined and never accepts no as an answer. Even when she seems to agree, she finds some way to go around whatever's blocking her path to get at what she wants no matter how impossible it might seem.
She also, unlike Ikki, has some difficulties accepting teamwork all the time. When the A-T gang wiped out the East Side Gang, Ikko came very close to being viciously and mercilessly beaten and abused. She only made it out because a few classmates intervened and paid the gang not to go further against her which did an incredible number on her pride. She knew what would've become of her if they hadn't and was grateful for it, but she also hated that she was incapable of handling it herself. She hated not being able to protect herself and began to view needing to rely on people as a weakness. It made a few of Kogarasumaru's matches more difficult, and she was harsher with the team overall since she adopted a more individualistic approach to things than Ikki ever did. She was eventually called out on her behavior and has realized that if she expects people to rely on her, then she needs to be able to rely on them. However it's something that still poses a problem for her outside of A-T matches. It's easier for her to remember she needs to act as a member of a team when it's a serious battle, but for everything outside of times like that . . . it's still a problem she hasn't completely overcome yet.
In spite of that and her frustrating levels of confidence and arrogance, Ikko is a loyal friend. Even while she was trying to stand apart from her team to prove she was strong enough to herself, she still dragged them along with her. They're precious to her. It's experience and memories made with them that form her "wings", the motivation that helps to drive her forward on her chosen path. Even Sora who betrayed her and murdered people is someone she can't bring herself to throw away. She still hopes that Sora will change her mind and accept her as a sister again one day.
Finally, because I couldn't find a way to work it in anywhere else easily, the only gender changes in this universe are Ikki (to Ikko) and Sora (no name change). Sora's gender doesn't change very much, but because Ikki is often said to be a spitting image of Sora in canon, I wanted to keep the appearance similarity in the AU. It's easier to say a girl is the spitting image of another girl than it is to say she's the spitting image of a guy.
Abilities (after Powercap): Ikko has the ability to manipulate wind which will be capped. She can't spin a tornado into existence with her hands or A-T anymore. She can create strong winds that could blow a person back or over, but she'll need to use her A-T to do so and can only do it so many times before she wears herself out. She can create lesser winds with her hands, enough to knock smaller creatures around medium-dog sized and smaller around, but the same cap will apply to that as to stronger winds.
Items Brought In: Her A-T and Kuu, her pet crow.
IC Survey:
--The character lying is acceptable if it's IC.
--But if the character would just dot it's not a good choice to go with.
Introduce yourself in a few sentences.
The great Minami Ikko has arrived to become your new goddess! Please, don't all gather round at once, I can spare enough time for each of you.
Describe yourself physically.
My appearance is perfect! With this godlike body and perfect set of curves—hey! What do you think you're laughing at?!
What was your childhood like?
My childhood? I guess it was alright. Rika-nee worked her hardest to make sure we were taken care of, so even if there were hardships sometimes I'm still grateful for it. It's the upbringing that made me into the person I am now, so of course it was a good one.
Who is most important to you, and why?
Does it have to be one person? There are a lot of people who've become important to me. My sisters, my team, Sumeragi, the people I've crushed and climbed over on the way to the top . . . All of them and more have played an important role in pushing me up towards greatness. It would've been a lot harder to come as far as I have without them to keep me going.
What's your biggest pet peeve?
Dickheads who think a girl can't kick their ass.
Do you consider yourself an optimist or a pessimist? Why?
An optimist! I don't get the point of worrying about nothing but what could go wrong. It's because you're hoping for the best that we keep soaring upwards, isn't it?
Where, or how, did you learn your most important skills?
The most important ones . . . those came from Sora-nee. She taught me the foundations for a lot of the skills I use now while I was recovering from a broken knee in the hospital.
Do you think world peace is possible?
Maybe? I don't know. Isn't this the kind of question you should be asking a politician? I don't have any interest in this.
Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
Aa? Do you know who you're talking to? I cause conflict. I don't like to waste time talking things out. It's easier to just fight it out to decide things.
What turns you on the most?
Wh-Who the hell asks a girl this?!
Anything else you'd like to say?
Let me introduce you to my pile tornado, fucker!!
